Strawberry Tiramisu

I wanted to make a summery version of one of my favourite deserts: TIramisu! Actually I have never had another version of the all time classic with mascarpone and eggs. Probably the best Tiramisu I ever had was when I was at my friend’s place in Italy. She made a real rich and tasty one. This is a rather “light” version of the classic recipe and is very refreshing.

My version is with strawberries and lemon and the base consists of vanilla yoghurt and cream. To add the refreshing taste, the ladyfingers are soaked in lemon juice.

This Tiramisu is a great desert or snack for a sunny weekend! And it doesn’t taste as ‘heavy’ as the original! The lemon zest in the base has a special yet fresh taste. Use a quality vanilla yoghurt and fresh strawberries to make it perfect!

What you need for 6 people:

  • 500g strawberries
  • 200g whipped cream
  • 2 lemons
  • 500g vanilla yoghurt
  • A pack of ladyfingers
  • Cocoa powder
  • Steps:

  • Wash strawberries and cut up into small pieces
  • Whip the cream until stiff and fold the vanilla yoghurt in
  • Add some lemon zest and blend with the creamy base
  • Fold the strawberries in
  • Soak the ladyfingers with fresh lemon juice and arrange them as a layer in a bowl or casserole
  • Top the ladyfingers with a layer of the yoghurt base
  • Layer, layer, layer…
  • Put into the fridge for about 3 – 4 hours
  • Decorate with cocoa powder

    1. I just recently made a strawberry tiramisu but without the lemon…thats a great idea though! I love strawberry and lemon together :)
